(Stillwater, Okla.) Entries are now being accepted through December 15, 2010 for the 2012 Distinguished Young Women (DYW) of Payne County Scholarship Program (formerly Payne County's Junior Miss) to be held on March 12, 2011 at the Stillwater Community Center. Participants must be Payne County residents and in the 11th grade in high school, whether public, private, or home schooled.
To enter, logon to www.distinguishedYW.org, then click on "Participate" from the "join us" drop down menu. After you've submitted the short application you will be contacted by a staff member of DYW of Payne County to confirm your application. Then you will receive an email from the DYW national office with instructions to complete your personal registration forms.
Rehearsals begin Sunday, January 9, 2011, 3:00-5:00pm, and continue each Sunday through March 6, 2011. Interview training and community service will be a part of your experience.
The categories of competition are; a 90 second Talent of your choice, Self-Expression, a short Fitness Routine, Interview, and Scholastic Achievement. Cash scholarships are awarded for each category winner and to the overall winner.
