The following is a list of scholarship and grant opportunities that are currently being offered to members of the community.

Applicants sought for sailing scholarship

Applicants are being sought for the Hartley Family Youth Sailing Scholarship.

The scholarship is a collaboration between the Kenosha Community Sailing Center, the Kenosha Yacht Club and the Hartley Family, and is managed by the Kenosha Community Foundation.

One or more scholarships will be provided to youth ages 6-15 for a one-week program with the Kenosha Community Sailing Center.

The deadline is June 1.

KEA offering pair of scholarships

Applications are now available for the 26th annual Kenosha Education Association scholarships.

Any Kenosha Unified high school senior is eligible to apply, excluding students who are eligible for or are receiving the Governor's Wisconsin Academic Excellence Scholarship. Also, students receiving full tuition scholarships at any institution are ineligible.

Two scholarships will be available this year: one $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student entering a four-year college/university program; one $500 scholarship will be awarded to a student entering a two-year associate degree or technical school program.

Scholarships will be awarded based on scholarship, service, leadership and public spirit.

The scholarship application form can be found at www.bitly.com/KEAScholarship19, in high school guidance offices and at the KEA office, 3030 39th Ave., Room 117.

The deadline is May 13.

St. Matthew's church offering grants

St. Matthew's Episcopal Church is seeking applicants for grant funding.

The church distributes grants to nonprofit and community organizations that meet St. Matthew's goals and mission for giving, which is to support local human services through projects or programs, according to church officials.

Interested organizations can contact the church office at 262-654-8642 or email stmatts5900@gmail.com to have an application sent to them.

The deadline for the grant application is April 24.

The church is hoping to distribute $7,400 in grants.

Group offers grants to youth teams

The Kenosha Simmons Baseball Organization is seeking youth sports teams (in any sport) in the Kenosha community that might be in need of donations/grants to support their programs.

Rotary offering pair of scholarships

The Kenosha Rotary Club, through the generosity of the Taylor Family Foundation Inc., will be awarding a $3,000 and a $2,000 scholarship to two high school seniors graduating in May.

The scholarships will be granted based on the completion of an essay focusing on a current economic topic.

The top two essay writers will be awarded the scholarships.
