A Professor of Veterinary Medicine of Bursa Uludag University, Turkey, Prof Ilker Arican has thrown more light on the 90 per cent scholarship offer to Nigerian Students studying in the country, stating that it is part of the educational bilateral agreements between Nigeria and Turkey.
According to Arican, Nigerian students interested in studying in Turkey are being offered 90 percent scholarship whichis coming after the federal government signed a bilateral agreement on international education to give Nigerians access to study in the over 70 Public universities in Turkey.
Speaking during a scholarship examination held recently in Lagos, Arican described this as an opportunity, for not only Nigerians but for students cutting across 21 countries in Africa, Europe, Asia amongst others who are desiring to study in a reputable foreign university.
Informing that the entrance exams are usually held in November, May and March of every year, the university don said "In Uludag University, we already have about 5,000 foreign students. We conduct exams for these students in 21 countries. After the exam, we make scores for all students. Students with high scores would be accepted for the scholarship programme.
''With the exam, students can be accepted in more than 80 universities in Turkey which has nearly 200 universities. When they come, they also learn Turkish and any Nigerian student who is able to learn Turkish to an extent would be able to go ahead with the bachelor's degree programme in eight months. After one year, they can work in Turkey as well".
Aside quality education, Arican enumerated other benefits derivable by foreign students, to include enjoyment of good learning environment, social amenities, sports and most especially, the amazing student town which is located very close to Uludag campus.
